How Long Do Veneers Last?

When done properly in a health dentition with proper care and maintenance, veneers can last a long time.  In the past I have posted some cases that have been in the mouth for over ten years.  Here is a case I delivered five years ago.  The porcelain veneers are still looking as pretty as the day I delivered them.  Note the details in the characteristics of the porcelain which make them look realistic.

The key to beautiful veneers is to recreate exactly what nature has intended for real teeth to look and function.

What are your thoughts about “instant smile”/”Snap On Smile” veneers? Are permanent veneers a better solution, and worth the expense in the long run, especially for people who want a better smile?

Hi there! “Snap On Smiles” are temporary fixes. You cannot wear them for extended periods of time, and up-close they do not look like real teeth due to the monochromatic color, countours, and the fact that the teeth are connected together. Permanent veneers are much more involved and realistic looking. 🙂
